Kevin Costner Goes Country!

I continue to be amazed at all the celebrities who have gone country over the past year or so. I blogged about Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish a while back. His song, Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It is now in both the CMT and GAC Top 20 Countdowns. Then there’s Jessica Simpson who has been all over the charts with her song, Come on Over.

Imagine my surprise when I flipped on GAC tonight to see the newest celebrity gone country – Kevin Costner! That’s right. Kevin Costner & Modern West will be releasing their first CD on Tuesday! And for those of you who can’t imagine Kevin Costner belting out a country tune, check it out for yourselves.

Now, it’s worth mentioning that I’ve always found Kevin Costner extremely attractive. But seeing him now in jeans and cowboy boots – that’s what I’m talking about!

Denis, C’mon and Rescue Me!

There are only two television shows that I never miss – American Idol and Rescue Me. As I’m sure you all know, David Cook became the new American Idol just last week. So no more Idol nights until next year! Fortunately, the new season of Rescue Me will soon be upon us! I’ve heard conflicting reports, but most sources say that the premiere will air on July 1st.

I have the first three seasons of the show on DVD, and Season 4 will be released next Tuesday. And I’ll be adding it to my collection right away. Maybe I’ll even get lucky and stumble across some Best Buy or Circuit City coupons.

If you’ve never watched Rescue Me, you’re missing out on a fantastic show. Lots of hot guys, an exciting storyline, Denis Leary’s brand of humor – what more could you ask for?

My Date with Denis

I absolutely love Denis Leary. I think he’s one of the funniest, sexiest guys on the planet. Well, last night he actually appeared in my dream! I was out and about in Knoxville late one night, when I just happened to see him. I introduced myself and told him what a huge fan I am. The next thing I knew, he was asking me out! I told him that I needed to go home and change clothes, and then I’d meet him. I rushed home, shaved my legs, put on the perfect outfit, and then rushed back out to meet him. I can’t really remember much else, so I’ll let my imagination take over from there.

TV Characters I Could Fall in Love With

I don’t think I’d ever date a celebrity, assuming that I ever got the chance. I just really have no interest. I see them all over the TV and magazines, but never really get a good look at who they are – and the glimpses that I am given usually make them far from desirable. I’d much rather choose a fictional TV character. Watching them week after week makes me feel like I actually know them.

I sat down to write about the top five TV characters that I could fall in love with, but after much thought, I can only come up with two – and they just happen to be brothers.

If you’ve never seen Supernatural, you’re missing out on a great show. It follows the lives of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who hunt evil supernatural beings – demons, vampires, vengeful spirits, and all sorts of other things that I really hope don’t exist! I’ve always had an interest in the supernatural, so it’s no surprise that I’d enjoy the show. But to tell you the truth, that’s not the main reason I watch it.

I love seeing the interaction between these brothers. They quarrel. They play pranks on each other. They laugh at the other’s expense. But at the end of the day, they would die for each other. Their bond grows stronger with each episode. It’s truly heartwarming to watch.

Sam and Dean are two very different characters, but they each have qualities that I admire – qualities that I’d love to find in a real guy. Sam is generally quiet and somewhat shy. He’s extremely intelligent and can often be found immersed in research on how to destroy whatever creature they’ve just encountered. He also has a very romantic nature. Dean, on the other hand, is more of a ladies’ man. If there’s a pretty girl around, you can bet that he’s trying to win her over. He’s charming, good looking, and has a great sense of humor. And one of the things I most love about him is that he’s extremely protective – both of his brother and anyone else he cares about.

It sure would be hard to choose between the two, but I’d probably go with Sam. I think he’s a bit more my type, and he seems like he’d be incredibly loyal.

We now return to real life.

Hottest Bachelor in Country Music

Garry Allan was recently chosen by Country Weekly readers as the Hottest Bachelor in Country Music. I couldn’t agree more. And I don’t think there’s a woman alive who doesn’t find him incredibly sexy. Here’s my favorite of his songs – Watching Airplanes.

Did any of you catch tonight’s episode of American Idol? I was absolutely blown away by David Archuleta’s performance of Imagine by John Lennon. I’ve been a big fan of David’s since I saw him in the auditions, and I am more impressed each week. In my opinion, he’s the most talented singer in the competition this year. And only 17 years old! Amazing.

Jason Castro still gets my vote for hubba hubba of the season, but David has my vote for talent. So they both got votes from my AT&T wireless phone!

Admiring Michael Peña

I watched Shooter last weekend, which was an awesome movie. And though Mark Wahlberg is definitely a hottie, my attentions were focused on Michael Peña.

I’ve been a fan of Michael’s since he appeared on The Shield in 2005. You may also remember him from his staring roles in Crash and World Trade Center.
