Still in Induction

Cruella went in for another ACTH stim test yesterday. Her cortisol levels dropped a lot last week, so the doctors wanted to give her only a few more days before testing again. According to the latest test results, her levels are still too high. She will continue the Lysodren every 12 hours until Friday morning, when she will have the third stim test since starting treatment. Hopefully by that time she will be ready to begin maintenance. It is possible that she could reach that point sooner, so I have to continue to look for the signs – loss of appetite, reduced water intake, diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy.

Cruella seems to feel better than ever since starting treatment. I was told to expect a full reversal of all the clinical signs of Cushing’s Disease within a few weeks, and it definitely looks like we’re on the right track.  Thanks for all the well wishes, and please continue to keep Miss Cruella in your thoughts!

I’m so glad to hear that Cruella seems to feel better. She will continue to remain in my thoughts and prayers as will you! Give her a hug from me.

Go, Cru!!! Keep on trucking and I hope she makes it to maintenance real soon for both your sakes.
