Blogging for Vet Bills

I just tallied up my vet bills for the year to date - $1,832.17! And with Cruella’s upcoming treatment for Cushing’s Disease, I expect to pay a lot more. This is precisely why I’ve been trying a number of moneymaking programs on my blog. I am faring decently, but my blogging income still isn’t quite keeping pace with the veterinary expenses.

If any of you are in a similar situation that requires some extra income, here are some programs you may find appealing.  These are my favorites.

ReviewMe pays you to review and promote products and services. Once you have listed your site with ReviewMe, you set your own review price. Advertisers then hand select your blog for reviews. And if you want to get started right away, you can find a list of campaigns that are available for your blog. Just choose the ones you want and start writing! Reviews typically pay between $10 and $200 each, and you take home 50% of the review price. Payment is made monthly by check, prepaid Mastercard, or PayPal.

SponsoredReviews is another program that allows you to write reviews for cash. You can browse through a list of available opportunities and bid on the ones that interest you. Bids are submitted to the advertisers, who then choose the bloggers they’d like to hire. Review prices typically range from $5 to $1000 each, with the blogger taking home 65%. Once an advertiser accepts your bid, you have one week to complete and post the review. Payment is made biweekly through PayPal.

Linkworth is best known for text link advertising, but they also have a very nice program for sponsored reviews. You just list your review price and then wait for advertisers to contact you. You take home 70% of the review price. Once you have accepted a job, you have 10 days to post the review. Payment is made monthly by check, direct deposit, or PayPal.

PayPerPost offers a list of review opportunities that your blog qualifies for. Reviews can pay between $5 and several thousand dollars each. Just choose the opportunities you like and start writing. Reviews must be completed within 6 hours of accepting the job. Payment is made by PayPal after 30 days.

PayU2Blog is a really fun program, as you are not required to review any products or services. You are given keywords that must be linked to certain URLs. You can write about whatever you like, as long as you insert the required link. Assignments pay $5 each unless noted otherwise. You must complete every assignment you are offered. Payment is made biweekly through PayPal.

Project Wonderful allows you to place advertising banners on your site. Other members bid on your ad space, with the highest bidder’s ad being displayed on your site. I haven’t made a lot of money with this program, but it does perform better than Adsense for me. You can request payment through PayPal when you reach the $10 minimum payout.

Pepperjam Network is a great way to monetize your blog through affiliate marketing. Just choose the advertisers you’d like to work with and place some ads on your page. You’ll earn generous commissions for each lead and/or sale you generate. I signed up for this program in March and have already made $85.25. Sure beats the $9.16 I’ve made since signing up with Commission Junction back in December! Payment is made biweekly through check, direct deposit, or PayPal.

I’m curious to know which programs you use and which have proven to be the best performers. If there’s something you recommend, be sure to insert your affiliate link in your comment! Best of luck!

    Thanks for promoting Pepperjam Network!

Being an animal lover like you I know how difficult it is when a pet gets sick and needs medical attention.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that Cruella gets well soon.

Hi Kat! I’ve got a diabetic cat, so I empathize with your situation. He easily costs a few hundred bucks a month (but he’s worth every penny!).

Not directly related to blogging, but Elastic Lab is always looking for people who own digital video cameras to participate in collaborative film projects. We have paying projects open for all skill levels, and it’s completely free to signup. http://www.elasticlab.com

Yeep! Didn’t mean to call you Kat, Tish. Realized my mistake the very second I hit send :( Sorry.

Oh I completely understand your dilemma. I would do anything for my dog or bird if they got sick. I use payu2blog and I’ve found it’s the best out of the rest of the sites I’ve signed up with. I’ll have to check out some of these others. Thanks for all the tips, and good luck with your fundraising for your baby.
