When I started college, it was as a Criminal Justice major. Along the way, I changed majors a number of times. Anthropology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science - you name it, I tried it. In the end, I got my A.S. in General Studies and then transferred to a B.S. program at another college. My Junior and Senior years focused on Business Management and Organizational Leadership. And as you know, I received my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in December 2007. I’m now studying for the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification (SPHR), which I will be testing for this December. As this is the most prestigious certification in the industry, that’s where I plan to stop. Future education will be focused on obtaining the credits necessary for recertification.
I’ve been working in the HR field for 11 years now. My work experience combined with my education makes me quite qualified to manage my own business. I’m not sure if I’ll ever give it a try, but it does make for an entertaining thought. I could get my business license, secure an office space, invest in a good business performance management software package, and I’d be well on my way!
Now I just need to figure out what type of business I’d operate. Hopefully that would be an easier decision than the college major was!

How about a Knoxville creative space like what Casey talks about at http://knoxify.com/knoxified-friday-question-work-at-home-people/ ?

I recently came upon a website that enables you to obtain online every city, county, and state business license all over the U.S.! Their website is http://www.businesslicenses.com or as they advertise Get Every Business License Online 800-679-3611 from a California Business License to a Florida Occupational License or a Washington state Business License and all other states in-between.
Enjoy and Good luck!
