My home office is in serious need of new furniture. I think Abe Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address while sitting at this desk. As for the chair, I’m willing to bet that it’s made from wood from George Washington’s cherry tree. An updated look would certainly be nice, but there’s much more than aesthetics at stake here. There’s my health.
You may recall that I blogged for 24 straight hours last year to support The Glaucoma Foundation during Blogathon 2007. It’s no surprise that my fingers were arthritic afterwards, but that wasn’t the worst of it. My entire body ached. And seeing that I’ll be participating in Blogathon 2008, it’s time that I made some adjustments for a more comfortable blogging experience.
My first order of business is getting a new home desk chair. Beyond the Office Door has a large selection of ergonomic office furniture at factory direct prices. The CT1000 chair caught my eye. It has a breathable mesh back with a backrest that adjusts not only up and down, but also in depth. That’s great, but when I read about the seat, I knew I’d found the right chair. “Enjoy the extra foam filled, molded waterfall seat for added comfort when sitting for long periods of time.” Ah yes. Exactly what I need!
Resting my tush on that most wonderful chair during Blogathon 2008 is something I cannot wait to do. I may still be blogging long after the 24 hours has passed!

Hah! Know what’s funny? I have almost that same identical chair! Instead of the padded tush though, it has the mesh (just like on the back). It’s really comfortable and soooo much more supportive all around then big executive chairs on the straight-backed wooden one that I assume you’re using. I highly recommend it!

Andrew - Mind if I come over and try out that chair for myself? After all, I don’t want to invest the $ without a test drive.
