I’ve always loved games, but sadly, I never learned to play one of the most popular – Backgammon. Several of my friends play on a regular basis, and I look forward to the day that I can face them in fierce competition. That day may come sooner than I originally thought.
I just discovered a great Backgammon site that offers step by step instructions for idiots like me, as well as advanced strategies for more experienced players. 1on1Backgammon.com is loaded with Backgammon information – instructions, strategies, Backgammon related news, and free software. If you’re looking to learn the game, or to improve your game, this is definitely the place for you.
I was really surprised when I read about the history of Backgammon. Did you know that early forms of this game have been traced back to 3000 BC? Nearly all civilizations have played Backgammon. The ancient Romans called it “The Game of Twelve Lines”, and the Byzantines referred to it as “Tabula”. Use of the word “Backgammon” dates to 1650 AD. At one time, the game was predominantly for nobility, but it is now played by rich and poor alike. You’ll find it in cafes and bars, as well as regional, national, and international tournaments.
1on1Backgammon.com is staffed by Backgammon players of varying skill levels from around the world. They have come together to help teach the rules and techniques of online Backgammon, helping you gain an advantage over your opponent. They even offer exclusive bonuses on BGroom.com, a large Backgammon casino. I won’t be confident enough to play for money anytime in the near future, but BGroom provides free Backgammon games as well.
Give me a little time to learn what I can about the game, and then I’ll be happy to match wits against some of you guys!

Teeni - Great! I certainly will.
I have tons of board games and no one to play them with, so online games are the perfect choice!

Definitely count me in too! I haven’t played in years, but I LOVE Backgammon. I used to play it with my older sister all the time when we were kids.
