Remember how excited I was to make my first two cents through Adsense yesterday? Well, I just checked my account, and today’s Adsense earnings alone are $2.02! Add that to the whopping two cents I earned yesterday, and I’m well on my way to being able to purchase a gallon of gasoline!

That isn’t very bad at all considering the location of the ads are on the bottom right. That is the lowest paying and lowest visible spot.
If you are looking to make quite a bit more, I would suggest putting a medium rectangle in your post and wrap your text around it.
I don’t think it would be too bothersome for your actual regular reader traffic and I think many including myself would be understanding that, “Hey!! This is how I support my blogging efforts!”
Make you some money with it and have fun! I think we all totally understand.

I put adsense on my blog long ago. They don’t pay out until you get $100. I’ve been out of blogging for a while and I’m stuck on about $60. I’m trying to get back in the game.

I have found two main things with getting earnings through adsense.
1) Position - Front and center 336x adblock right up there above the fold in the center or on the top left hand side beats every other positions hands down - sometimes by a factor of 10 to 1.
2) Topic - Merchants will pay a lot more per click for topics like insurance, law, medical advice, finance, fat loss etc. If you have posts (or better yet whole blogs) that have to do with those topics, you will do better. (There are other high adsense paying topics too).
