Google Recognizes My Worth

Mounting vet bills have created the need for extra income, so I figured I’d make a few bucks doing what I love – blogging. I signed up for SponsoredReviews, have been contributing to thisisby.us, and I added Google Adsense to my blog.

I logged in to check my Adsense account today, and guess what? I had made my first two cents! Yes! I’ve been spewing my two cents worth on this blog for more than three years. Leave it to Google to take notice!

    I am envious.

My lone hope is that some insane billionaire takes notice of my site, and pays me to write goofy junk….

    Don’t get too excited.

I was thrilled, too, when I made my first 80 cents in the first month (yes, month).

I’m now up to 87 cents…in three months.

Oh contraire, stay excited! I added Google ads on my Tennessee Trivia website last year and so far I have made $537.00. I’ve yet to put any ads on Knoxville Trivia Blog, but am considering it.

Yee ha! Great job! Don’t and spend all that in one place now. Hey, ya gotta start somewhere right? Just keep it up and you’ll definitely get there.

Be careful with the SponsoredReviews service and similar “pay per post” systems. Google does not like these, and recently deleted a bunch of blogs from the Google index that were known to take paid reviews: http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/11/16/payperpost-bloggers-get-slammed-by-google/

(in fact, good idea to subscribe to the google webmaster blog if you are looking to monetize – they offer tips to do it “right”)

Well, your readers definitely recognize you as being worth a lot more if that helps. Sorry we can’t afford to pay you though. It seems all bloggers are in the same boat these days. Prices of oil and gas probably aren’t helping all that much. ;)

I finally reached 20 bucks earned with adsense after my massive 59 cents yesterday ;P

Hi Tish! Sorry we’ve been away for awhile – off doing agility!

I have to also caution you, Michael is right. Remember I got a PR4 on my blog and Rescue Me? I’ve been doing payperpost stuff, and now I’m a 0 on both blogs. I was a PR4 for exactly 7 weeks. And we have heard about a few blogs being delisted. Very sad…indeed.

We really don’t mind the pagerank, except that we were making money to contribute to rescues and for our agility addiction, and now that it’s down, we don’t have many ops coming our way.

Good luck with Google Adsense. We think making a little money on the side is a good thing, especially doing what you love.

    Woofs, Johann
