Miss Cruella is back home – with far more stitches than I had imagined!

The lump on the back of her head appeared to be pea-sized, but there was much more hiding under the skin. Look at this incision.

The biopsies, ultrasounds, and x-rays taken today appeared to show no sign of any other cancer in Cruella’s body. We are still waiting on some blood work results, and she will be going to UT for a follow up appointment in the coming days. They will do a more powerful ultrasound just to make sure that there are no traces of cancer that were not detected by her regular doctor.
Cruella is whining a bit, but all in all, she appears to be doing well. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

So glad she is doing ok…that incision looks really painful. Guess they have lidocaine for doggies…so they numbed her up real good. Hugs to the puppies!! (and you)

Whew – I am soooooo glad that she is doing ok Tish – what a scary day for both of you. We have been praying and thinking about you since we saw your Twitter post.
I had stitches like that when I got attacked by that nasty dog a couple of years ago, there were two strips of them from hip to hip. Mum got a great tip for getting those stitched places healed real fast – it’s called Traumeel ointment.
It’s a homeopathic ointment that heals and slightly numbs at the same time. Mum used an entire tube on me as I healed up, and it kept a lot of the hurt and itching away. It is a miracle cream and she still uses it on me for sore muscles after agility and anytime I get a scratch or cut pad. Our vets around here swear by it and so do we.
We are giving you big cyber hugs, my friend. And continuing our prayers…

Aw, she’s such a beautiful dog. I’m glad she’s OK.
As for the Soup Spoon award, I picked a winner but can’t announce who it is until I get the award graphic sorted. It should be later tonight as I left my laptop at my boyfriend’s house and the program with the template is on it :$

Duke, our great dane/boxer x had a tumor about the size of a golf ball come up very quickly on his side. We had it removed, but the scar is about 7 inches across. Dogs are such troopers… so stoic. I made him wear my t-shirts so he wouldn’t lick the incision. It was either that or the cone and a 10 year old great dane mutt does not do cones! That would be undignified.
Wishing your puppy a speedy recovery!

Poor dog, although this news does sound hopeful
I know what it’s like to have an animal you love with some health issues. Hugs for Cruella.

I just couldn’t forget the day when the veterinary called up to inform that our puppy couldn’t make it on a surgery…:( It was just so sad… Really glad to hear that Cruella is recovering.

Every time I come to this page and see that big honkin’ pic of Cruella starting at me, it makes me laugh. I really want to put a word balloon over her head saying, “Tish better sleep with one eye open tonight…” or something. Heh. I almost don’t want you to update the site, ’cause then you’re bumping poor Cru down the page.
Hope she’s feeling lots better!a
