I have the same spider in my yard right now. Same marking on it’s back. And when it spreads its legs it’s pretty large.
BTW, whoever wrote “St. Andrew’s Cross” spider….
Those spiders actually design an X into their web (very obvious) and sit with their legs in that shape, too. They have very sharp stripes on their back. AND, unless you’re in Australia, you won’t be seeing one in person.

but i have the same exact spider in a container in front of me
i just caught it a few minutes ago
and i was online trying to find out what kind of spider it is and i ran across this
its pretty cute
i almost wanna hold it

that is a windowcill spider.not sure on the venom levels though.

it is an Orb Weaver spider. they come out around dusk and make their webs for the night to catch moths and other insects, then in the morning they will usually roll their web up and leave. then around dusk time they do it all over again. sometimes the same place, sometimes somewhere else. they are not poisonous. some have a tan and black striped legs some have an orange and black striped legs. ive seen some get as big as a half dollar.

That is an Orb Spider, I believe. Is it sort of Brown and Orange with a little yellow. or all brown. Either way it looks like and orb. They are harmless to us, though running into them while on the lawn tractor is certainly icky. They eat lots and lots of mosquitos and other pests. They are good to have around and fun to watch, as long as they stay OUTSIDE!!

This is a spider of the Genus Aranea,Probably A.cabatica or a related species.Yeah thats right Charlotte from the movie

i think these spiders are crazy, but at least they eat all of these bugs……………………..
