Day at Dollywood

My friend Elliot and I spent the day at Dollywood yesterday.  We checked out the shops, went to the Eagle Sanctuary, fed ducks, and rode lots of rides.  I usually have neck problems after riding the coasters, so I really asked for trouble yesterday.  I rode the Blazing Fury, the Thunderhead, the Tennessee Tornado, and then the new Mystery Mine.  I may have been okay if I had stopped at the Tennessee Tornado, but no.  Not me.  I like to walk on the wild side.

The Mystery Mine was the longest, and scariest, two and a half minutes of my life.  Well, unless you count that one guy I dated.

I think I’m a bit too short for the Mystery Mine.  At 5’2”, my head didn’t clear the restraints that came down over me.  My head pounded against them with every turn – and there were a lot of turns.  I looked around, and everyone else’s heads were completely above the restraints.  On the next trip to Dollywood, I’m taking a booster seat!

As silly as it may sound, my favorite ride is the carousel.  Dollywood has a beautiful carousel.  It has not only horses, but ostriches, goats, rabbits, and all sorts of other animals.  I got to ride a bear!

When we passed by the Wishing Well, we stopped and tossed in our coins.  Immediately after tossing his coin, Elliot stuck his hand in his pocket and said, “Oh well.  My wish didn’t come true.  There’s not $1,000 in my pocket!”  As for me, I wished the same wish I’ve been wishing for a number of years now.  Seeing as how my neck and shoulders are incredibly sore and stiff, maybe I should have wished for a masseuse!

You can’t leave us hanging like that! What’d you wish for?!? And for the record, I would so pick the ostrich if I hit that carousel…

Andrew - Don’t ya know that wishes are supposed to be kept secret? ;) A massage might convince me to tell ya.

Mike - Thanks! I’m sure it’s on its way! :)

I see your game. So I give you a massage to try and get the wish outta you, when in reality, getting a massage IS exactly what you wished for! Pretty sneaky, sis…

How many coasters are there at Dollywood? I thought there was only one or two. Are they good coasters, tall and fast, wooden, steel, indoor, loop, twists?
    Thanks.
