Andrew has been asking for a photo to prove that I was indeed a Sonic carhop many years ago. Here ya go, Andrew!
And no laughing, guys! This photo isn’t dated, but if my memory serves me correctly, I was around 18 or 19 years old. The guy with me was an old friend by the name of Ron. I still run into him from time to time and we laugh about the old days at Sonic.

Though this doesn’t prove you were a carhop, since I see you hugging some employee inside the restaurant! Where’s the shot of you skating out to the car while balancing 12 orders of fries, 14 burgers, 6 shakes, etc.?

Have you been to the new Sonic at Chapman / Sevier intersection? There is a carhop there, age 60+, who wears the roller skates.
Sonic is one of the few chain fast food places that still makes a good burger, and the breakfasts are decent too
