Contrary to popular belief, I actually do have a life outside my blog. I even go out in public every now and then! Just ask Black Atticus. He spotted me at Knoxville Center Mall a couple of months ago. Imagine my surprise when I heard someone yell, “ChattieKat!” He totally blew my cover, and by the next day, the Weekly World News had picked up the story. Yep, Nessie and Bigfoot took a back seat to yours truly that day!
I know I haven’t been as bloggingly active as usual over the last few days, and for that I apologize. There has been a lot going on.
I saw a production of A Few Good Men at Oak Ridge Playhouse on Friday night. As is always the case with the plays I see, it was fantastic. I’ll be seeing Honky Tonk Angels at Clarence Brown Theatre this coming weekend.
Sunday was Home Improvement Day at the Kat House. My brother came over at the crack of dawn to trim some out of control shrubs. While he was working on that, I made a trip to Lowe’s for new vertical blinds and some other handy dandy items. Once he had finished the shrubs, my brother installed the blinds and hung all the pictures I hadn’t gotten around to hanging. It was a productive day.
I went to the doctor for my annual physical this morning. All is well except for the fact that I have developed anemia. I guess that explains why I’ve been completely exhausted lately. I’ve been passing out after work and waking up several hours later, confused and wondering if it’s time to go back to work. Anyway, the most common causes for a low red blood cell count are iron and/or B-12 deficiencies. I’ll be taking a good multivitamin to try to get things back on track.
In other news, I am currently studying for my PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. I’ll be taking a prep course on Monday nights starting September 10th. It will run for 12 weeks, and then I’ll take the certification exam in December. Wish me luck.
That’s it for now, but I’ll be posting again…and again…over the next hour or two. I have awards to distribute!
