Peace at the Park

With nearly 15 pounds lost, my body is really starting to shape up. I’ve gone about as far as I can with diet alone, so I now have to spend a considerable amount of time in the gym to shed the remaining pounds.

I love my gym. They recently added a Cardio Theatre, where you can watch movies while working out. I’m all about movies, so that’s awesome. But you know what sucks? They are only open until 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m a night owl, and I don’t usually even think of going to the gym until 9 PM or so.

As an alternative, I went to the park and walked the track tonight. I haven’t been to the park in forever. It was quite the enjoyable experience. There were a few other walkers as well as plenty of people playing basketball and tennis. I spent 37 minutes on the track – 37 peaceful minutes. I thought about all the things going on in my life. I took deep breaths of honeysuckle-scented air. And I realized that this is the way life should be – simple. My life has been anything but that lately.

I am a very independent woman, and I’m content with being single. But I want bliss – not just contentment. I’m ready to let someone into my life – so long as it’s simple. Two people who have their own lives but spend a little quality time together each week. No arguments, no stress, no doubts. Just complete understanding of each other. Sharing laughs and love. Slowly…very slowly…building toward something bigger.

A girl can dream. Hopefully this dream becomes a reality.

Best of luck in all things love. It’s a very exciting place to be – single with possibilities! But you know, the whole “simple” thing MIGHT be a tall order. (#);)

mmmm…37 peaceful minutes while breathing in honeysuckled air sounds GREAT. I think you are approaching your own zen modes with things like that. admirable indeed.

i don’t think what you seek is impossible. sounds like a nice refreshing approach to getting to know someone.

Bush – Thanks for the well wishes! And I know what you mean about simple being a tall order! Relationships are rarely simple, but I’ll settle for simpler! :)

Atticus – Zen mode indeed! Btw, maybe you should join me at the park one night. Might be a great place for you to write! You can write while I’m walking! It’s nice to see that you don’t think what I seek is impossible. It’s definitely a nice way to get to know someone without a lot of pressure. And yes – almost as HOT as blogs!! hehehe. As for tennis, I’ve never really gotten into it, but I’d like to learn! Wanna teach me?

Way to go, Tish :) I still maintain that you looked great before as well, but I can totally understand why you wanted to lose the pounds =)

Any guy would be lucky to be with you. It’s just a matter of when you’ll meet that right one, not if :)

Mum says you can borrow me if you need to work out more. Running me in agility is ‘quite’ a run and will get you in shape really fast!! Luck in the love thing, we wish you peace and happiness, always!

Mike – Thank you so much! That’s one of the sweetest comments I’ve ever gotten! :) You’re the best.

Johann – Come on over and run with me! :) Thanks for the best wishes! Peace and love to you, my friend!

  11. Johann Says:

Mum says that the best way to loose some lbs. is to run me on a standard run, about 167 yards in 40-50 seconds. And then do that three to four times in one day. You should see what she looks like when she’s done running me, all huffy and puffy and her face gets kind of red too! She’s a mess, but I love her anyway.

Thanks for voting for me!!! And Mum wants me to tell you Mike is right!!!

Now that I’m not driving to the 3rd job, I can spend more time at my gym. With that, I won’t have to worry about every time that I start improving to not be able to go more than 2 times a week or so.

    Congrats on the improvements

Here’s hoping you have that peaceful life with lots of love and happiness (raising glass….CHEERS!) I totally understand about wanting a drama free relationship. It’s too exhausting to have anything BUT that. Hugs to you my sweet!!

Simple sounds really good right now. It seems like simple has not been around my life for awhile.
