God... You can say, "I'm/we're not having kids," and some people get incredibly angry. I've put up with all-out onslaughts from my family before --- anger at my not giving my parents any grandchildren. I put up a 'personal' last year, stating that I didn't want to date women who had children (because it causes far too much stress in a relationship), and instead of finding anyone without children, women with children (wo pretended not to) would go out with me for no other reason than to tell me what a "selfish jerk" I was being. Random people, at odd times, have done the same thing --- called me self-centered, selfish, arrogant, a wasted life. I'm none of those things...

At the end of the day, I also know that I can't have healthy children. How could I, in good conscience, impregnate a woman to deliver a child who's entirely likely to suffer all its life? "You could pray about it! Miracles happen!" To me, that's a far more selfish standpoint. I'm pretty sure God wants us to use the good sense and judgement we were granted...

I would so much rather have a happy life with a woman, build a life that's safe and comfortable, and take care of one anothers needs ... and maybe raise a few pups. ;-)

Oh, I wish for what you wish for too! Thank you for your kind words, my friend. Freedom of choice - that's what I say.

@ Kids - I think it's just important to keep in mind that while it "sounds like a great idea for everyone" it's definitely an individual choice. And frankly, I'm glad some can say they're not going to have kids if they don't want them. Personally, I would love to have more, but if YOU don't, I have no beef with ya.

I understand how single women would get upset at the "when kids???" question, but sometimes it's puzzling when a young married couple has decided not to have kids. Especially the ones that would be such good parents.... heck, even the single moms and dads that have chosen not to have kids puzzle me sometimes. But I would never pester them. Kids are so rewarding you just want to share the experience sometimes ;)

I've never seen Boogie Nights - but since the only thing I ever hear about that movie is Mark Wahlburg's.... attribute (or not) I have no desire to see it.
