I’d Like to Thank the Academy…

Mike from Ordinary Folk presented me with the Thinking Blogger Award. Thanks so much for the honor, Mike! Now I present the award to five blogs that make me think.

  1. Groanin’ Jock – If you’ve never checked out Groanin’ Jock’s blog, you’re really missing out. Not only does he make me think, but he keeps me laughing too! Groanin’ Jock hails from Scotland, and here is the evidence that he really wears a kilt! Speaking of kilts, this post really cracked me up! Every time I look at it, I find myself laughing again.
  2. [Geeks Are Sexy] Technology News – Being a geek, it’s no surprise that [Geeks are Sexy] is one of my favorite blogs. Kiltak and cohorts blog about a variety of issues of interest to geeks – technology, science, games, books, blogging, and, rumor has it, social tips! The geek in you is sure to fall in love with [GAS].
  3. Inn of the Last Home – My good friend Barry authors Inn of the Last Home. His blog really appeals to me because it gives a true glimpse of the special person that Barry really is. He blogs about his daily life as well as news, politics, and much to my appreciation, theatre!
  4. Blogitude.com – When describing his blog, Mark Steel says, “Can’t laugh at yourself? Let us do it for you!” That statement is an accurate representation of what you’ll find when you visit blogitude.com. Mark and his buddies often post about random asshats that they have encountered – in the news or on the streets. Blogitude has several authors, so you’ll find a hodgepodge of topics here. Just don’t click the link if you’ve been acting like an asshat lately.
  5. Chip’s Quips – Sterling “Chip” Camden is an independent software developer in Washington state. He blogs about computer-related issues and also gives us a good look into his personal life. His blog is quite educational, but also lots of fun. I guarantee that you’ll find something you love over at Chip’s Quips.

Congratulations to each of these blogs! Now it’s your turn to pass on the award. The rules are simple:

  1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to five blogs that make you think.
  2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of this meme.
  3. Optional: Proudly display the “Thinking Blogger Award” with a link to the post that you wrote. Here is an alternate silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog.

I’m going to check these folks out~

  3. Barry Says:

My wife’s trying to persuade me to wear a kilt, too. Maybe if I get enough demand, I will ;)

  4. Mark Says:

Why thank you Tish, I feel honoured! Whether having you think about WWF wrestlers from the 80s and what’s hidden beneath a Scotsman’s kilt is a good thing or not, I’ll let you decide!

    Mark S. ~ Wow. You’re finally admitting you’re an asshat? ;)

Flat Coke ~ You’ll love them! Thanks!

    Barry ~ I’ll start a petition. ;)

Mark ~ You’re very welcome! And yes, it’s a good thing. I love thinking about 80s WWF wrestlers and what’s hidden beneath a Scotsman’s kilt. That reminds me of that silly song, “The Scottsman”. If you haven’t heard it, I need to send it to you! I have it in mp3 format!

  6. Barry Says:

I LOVE that song. I need to learn to sing it in my Scottish accent…

  7. Mark Steel Says:

Kat: Well, recent events are proving that I’m a lot more of an asshat than I thought I was. ;-)

  8. Mark Says:

    I don’t think I’ve heard that song….

  9. Barry Says:

Tish, you’re going to have to send out a bunch of MP3’s to everyone;)

  10. sterlingcamden Says:

Thanks, Tish! I’ll try to write something um, thoughtful, in response.

  11. Adria Says:
