Kevin and I went to our first baseball game of the season last night. Our Tennessee Smokies took on the Jacksonville Suns. As usual, I was there with camera in hand to catch a few special moments for my blog.
As you know, I’ve been on a very strict diet, so I just couldn’t resist getting one of these scrumptious chili dogs!
Good Lord in Heaven, it was so yummy! And seeing as though I had already blown the diet that evening, I went all out and got a Mountain Dew as well!
Kevin stayed true to tradition and got those damn barbecue nachos.
Here are a few other highlights from the evening.
We were fortunate enough to have an honorary commentator sitting right next to us. He gave the play by play loud enough for the entire stadium to hear, and he even coached the team on. I looked down to his feet, and it suddenly all made sense.
I observed a moment of silence when Rojas stepped up to bat.
Jarred Ball, my favorite baseball player, wore the number 20 when he played for the Smokies. He now plays for the Mobile BayBears. Life just hasn’t been the same since he left the team. Expect to see him on my blog in the coming weeks however, since Kevin and I will be seeing a BayBears game at some point this season.
It was a fantastic evening at Smokies Park. The only thing that would have made it better is having my photo taken with Diamond and Slugger.

How fun!!! Glad you had such a good time. I’m glad you got that yummy food & Mt. Dew. It would have sucked to pull out some Weight Watchers 100 calorie packs and Kevin eat those BBQ nachos in front of you!!!

Mike ~ I should have. Kevin is always ready to take my photo with any mascot that happens to be wandering around. I love having my photo taken with mascots! I’ll be going to another game on Saturday, so maybe I’ll do it then!
Binsk ~ C’mon down and go to a game with us!
Wm ~ That’s not ketchup. It’s mustard. And it is oh so yummy! I don’t even care what it’s made from!
Kev ~ Oops! I had that in my post actually, but I had some serious technical difficulties. It just wouldn’t format correctly, so I had to keep re-doing the post. Guess I lost a sentence when I reposted! Thanks for clearing that up! Men!
Flat Coke ~ Thanks! I knew you’d understand. You’re the best blogger friend ever!
MizMouthy ~ Wish you could have been there with us! And you are so right about the cute boys and nachos!! hehehe…
Jan ~ I’m sure you’ll have a great time!! Be sure to post about it. And come join us for a game sometime!
Biscuit ~ Yum. You’re my new idol.
Brian ~ I worked at Krystal on Chapman Highway when I was a young pup. I try to stay away from their food as much as possible. hehe. Though a cheese Krystal every now and then really hits the spot!
