Miss Cruella saw the oncologist for extensive testing and biopsies yesterday. It turns out that the mast cell tumor that was removed from her her shoulder has spread to her spleen. The splenic involvement appears to be mild, but she will need to undergo chemotherapy beginning next week. The doctors saw no obvious spread from the gastrointestinal tumor, but they feel she should be treated for that as well, just to be safe. They are trying to get her into a clinical trial for a new chemotherapy drug that is showing promising results for the types of cancer that she has. I’ll know next week whether we can get that particular medication. If not, she will be put on a different form of chemotherapy. The problem is that the gastrointestinal cancer doesn’t respond well to other forms of chemotherapy, so keep your fingers crossed for this new experimental treatment.
On a related note, I spent last night in the ER. Cruella must have been in real pain from all the cancer testing. She has always been calm and sweet, but she attacked me when I tried to touch her last night.
This picture doesn’t do the wounds justice. My entire left cheek area is swollen, red, and bruised. And there are 4 deep puncture wounds. I had to get a tetanus shot, and I will be taking antibiotics for the next two weeks. The doctor used wound closure strips instead of stitches so that the wounds will be less likely to scar. Let me tell you – my face hurts like hell! Bad Cruella!!

Brico,your comment is crud and IMO, uncaring consedering what Tish is experiancing at present. This is twice you belittled her verbaly in a sexual manner in her blog, it is uncalled for. Either stand beside her as one who cares or go in peace and allow her to heal.

i appreciate your concern for tish’s feelings and well being. i can understand how my comments might be perceived when not in context with the continual and regular phone conversations between tish and i. there have been 3 conversations regarding this incident before this comment was posted. and while this post is the first you and others are seeing or hearing about this, i am proud to have been one of the first that tish turned to in calling when this incident occured and that i got an advanced emailing of this pic. in fact it was i who brought up the idea of tish challenging herself to post a pic of the wound. i am very proud of her for doing so and told her that before commenting here. tish knows the deep mutual respect between us is not reflected nor compromised in comments on our blogs. in fact we have always shared a similar sense of humor in such regards. nor would i have left such a comment if i wasnt confident that tish would take it in the manner intended.
tish also knows that i would never treat her with such disrespect and that if she had questions or concerns about something i had said here or in any other format that she is free to openly discuss them with me and that an appology would be forth coming if my words were misconstrued.
again, i appreciate (and i know tish does too) your looking out for her.
now, we should all focus our attention on the real comment ass**le out there… sissy b!

I read all the time, but dont comment much on anyone’s blogs (but a select few). I feel your pain! OMG, poor Tish! I am sure it scared the daylights out of you! I am sure Cruella feels horrible, in her own lil way. I have a parrot that flipped out on me once meds wore off…..

I attacked my mum once. We had just arrived at the dog park, when suddenly all the 8 dogs in the park started attacking me! I was yelping and crying. Mum got all the dogs off me and picked me up and I bit her. It was because I was scared and traumatized. I’m sure that’s what happened to you. So sorry!!!! Poor both of you……
