My heart is breaking for poor Cruella. I haven’t been able to think of anything else for days.

She is still in ICU. When I talked to the doctors yesterday, they were pleased with her progress. Though still very ill, she was improving. She was starting to drink water and hold it down for the first time since Sunday. They tried to feed her canned food for the first time since Sunday, but she wouldn’t touch it. I visited her after work and tried to hand feed her. She took a couple of tiny bites, which is more than she would do for the doctors, but she hasn’t eaten since. Fluid taken from her abdomen showed no sign of bacteria, and her blood work was beginning to improve.

I talked to the doctor this morning, and Cruella appears to be feeling worse than she was yesterday. She drank water and vomited it back up. She still won’t eat. They asked me to bring anything that she normally likes to eat after work today. At this point, she needs to eat SOMETHING! I am going to take some of her favorite canned food and treats. Hopefully I’ll be able to convince her to eat. The doctors are doing more blood work to make sure that things have not gotten worse. And they will also be taking a sample of the fluid from her abdomen and checking for bacteria again. I am praying that things will improve soon, and that she’ll be all better and ready to go home!

You cannot imagine the pain and heartache I feel right now. Those of you without pets may not understand, but Cruella and Molly are much more than pets to me. They are my family. This illness has gotten extremely expensive and continues to grow. But my best friends are worth whatever amount of money their wellbeing requires. I only wish that money was all it would take to make Cruella well again. The doctors are doing all that they can. Now it’s time for God to step in and do the rest. I pray that he heals her and brings her back home to me soon.
