I am completely exhausted.

On Sunday night, Cruella got extremely sick. I took her to the Animal ER, who basically told me that everything was fine and sent Cruella back home. I called them several times after she got home, telling them that her symptoms had gotten worse. They told me just to watch her through the night and take her to her regular vet in the morning. I didn’t get a wink of sleep that night.

I took Cruella to her regular vet as soon as they opened on Monday morning. They kept her all day and ran tests and gave her IV fluids and antibiotics. They finally figured out what the problem was late this evening. She had developed an internal infection at the surgical site.

The doctor started emergency surgery at approximately 10:45 PM on Monday night. It lasted until about 2:15 AM! I stayed in the waiting area through the entire surgery, but I was taken back a couple of times to see what was going on during the surgery. The surgery took longer than expected because another mass was found once they opened her up - this one attached to her uterus. It had been out of sight during Thursday’s surgery.

Cruella is spending the night in the hospital, and she may be there for 2-3 more days. Hopefully I’ll know more tomorrow. When I left the hospital around 2:30 AM, she was just waking up from the anesthesia.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She was in very bad shape before the surgery. Hopefully she’ll be back on her feet again soon.
