This and That…

As you now know, I’ve opened my blog to the public. I still have some reservations about doing so, but several of my invited readers have been unable to access my blog. To combat the problem of anonymous commenters, I have turned off the anonymous comment feature. It’s possible that some may read my blog with ill intent, but at least they won’t be able to comment – at least not anonymously. If you have something rude to say to me, at least have the balls to sign your own name to it!

Molly’s doctors consulted with a veterinary endocrinologist about the upcoming tests for Cushing’s Disease. I was advised to stop giving Molly the Otibiotic ointment for the infected ear since it does contain trace amounts of steroids. The docs will recheck Molly’s ear on February 27th. If it is not doing well and is in need of medication again, they will perform a test for Cushing’s on March 2nd. If the ear is doing well, they will push the Cushing’s test back to March 9th. This test will involve taking a blood sample and then giving Molly an injection of a hormone to stimulate the adrenal gland. Several more blood samples will be taken over a two hour period, and the steroid levels in each sample will be measured. The doctors have told me that this test will give them a fairly definite answer as to whether or not Molly has Cushing’s. There are two other tests that will give them even more information about Cushing’s. I’m praying that she doesn’t have the disease, but if she does, at least we’ll be able to begin treatment. Keep her in your prayers!

Today was a busy day. I got my hair cut, my brows waxed, my car serviced, and I even squeezed in some shopping time! Yep, my long locks are no more! And here’s the proof…

Okay, so it’s not that short, but it’s quite a bit shorter than it was this morning!

Tomorrow will be devoted to nothing but housework. I have an unbelievable amount of things to catch up on the homefront!

I’ve bought a few new DVDs lately – Now You Know, Cars, Ice Age: The Meltdown, World Trade Center, Pirates of the Carribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest, Lost: Season 2, Dog Whisperer: Season 1, Caesar Millan’s Becoming the Pack Leader, and Caesar Millan’s People Training for Dogs. I bought Now You Know before having seen it – mainly because it’s written and directed, as well as starred in, by Jeff Anderson (Randal from Clerks and Clerks II). My copy is even autographed by Jeff! The movie got off to a slow start, but it ended up having some really good lessons on life and love in the end. It’s not a great movie, but it’s worth watching. I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars. World Trade Center is the only other movie in the group that I bought without seeing first. Wanna know why? Michael Pena!

For those of you who are fans of Lost, Best Buy currently has Season 2 on sale for $29.99, which is $20 less than retail! Stop by your nearest Best Buy before it’s too late!

That’s it for me. Now I’m going to hit the blogroll and catch up on what’s going on in each of your lives! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope the rest of your weekend is excellent!

Oh my gosh! Your hair look GREAT!! You are so photogenic!! Georgous, darling!

I bet Bat would like Now You Know–he’s a huge Clerks fan–and all those other silly movies that Kevin Smith did.

If you can get your brows waxed…I think you’d be good to go on other areas :o )

That’s quite the haul of movies you got there, Tish! Good thoughts going out to you and Molly… and the hair is a stunner… but when are you not.

    Cheers!

Glad to see your blog’s public again (mostly because it will update now in my Bloglines again, lol). I feared that I would forget to check after a while, you would move to Carolina (on of them, don’t recall which), and the in 2010 one day I’d say, “Wonder what ever happened to that Tish girl…”

    The hair is great!!

Good luck with Molly. You must insist that the new addition on the vet’s office is named after you… I think you’re financing it!

  5. RACHEL Says:

Change is good. Nothing like a new do make you feel spruced up.

I like the new haircut, but then again I like short hairded gals,
I hope the kittys results come back good, but I will admit when I read the name I thought of Peter Cushing and wondered if the disease had any thing ot to with b movies.

World Trade Center was great. I was wondering how the Randall movie would be after seeing previews for it on Clerks 2 – another good movie with some life lessons. I’m not a fan of Jay and or Silent Bob, but Dante and Randall always make me laugh.

Welcome back to the world of open blogging – hopefully, the baddies will stay away this time.

The photo looks great, Tish! Good thing you were careful and didn’t accidentally get confused and get the car waxed and your brows serviced…

Although, hey, who knows, could be fun…
