Happy Anniversary!

Tomorrow will make 8 months since Brico and I first met in person. Though it hasn’t been a completely perfect relationship, it has been pretty darn close! This relationship has been by far the most fulfilling, and the most serious, of my life.

Most of my friends would tell you that I’m extremely picky when it comes to the guys I date. That’s why I’ve had so few real relationships. And the ones that I have had have been very short-lived. Before Brico, my longest relationship, other than my marriage, was with Chris. It was just short of 8 months. That relationship ended in 2000. George and I were together off and on (mostly off) for about 9 months between 2003 and 2004. We broke up so many times that I can’t even begin to guess how much time we actually spent together – maybe 3 or 4 months. My other relationships were so brief that I’m embarrassed to even mention them.

I’ve done a lot of thinking about what exactly makes Brico so special. I like the fact that he’s so responsible. He takes excellent care of his daughter and provides a stable home life for her. He rarely drinks and never gets wild and crazy – well, except for when the lights go out! He holds down a full-time sales job, does graphic design work on the side, and still manages to find time to volunteer at a children’s home. He calls me every night at bedtime – just because hearing my voice one last time helps him to sleep better. He talks to me every morning on the way to work. He is honest and caring, and even after 8 months, he still sends me text messages during the day to tell me that he loves me. This guy is everything I have ever wanted in a man, and more. What I value the most about our relationship is that we’re respectful of each other, we trust each other, and we discuss our problems.

Our problems have been few. I can count the number of times I’ve been upset with Brico on one hand – and still have a couple of fingers left over! I’m reserving the middle one for the next time he behaves like he did just yesterday. Yep, you’d never know it from this lovey-dovey post, but Brico was a very bad boy yesterday!

I was hoping to spend this weekend with him, but I’m still battling the sinus problems. I can tell I’m getting better, so hopefully by next weekend, I’ll be able to spend some time with my sweetie. And he can spend some time making up for his bad behavior!

Happy 8 month anniversary, babe! Thank you for enriching my life with your presence. I love you.

    Happy Anniversary!
I think you guys are so good for each other.

Oh yeah… I’m supposed to tell you how much I enjoyed Pan’s Labyrinth. It was good but not as much fairytale as the ads lead you to believe. It was definitely different and very well done. There is some gruesome and it isn’t for kids.

Get better Sistah you and your man need each other.

Happy Anniversary to you both! I am glad to hear that everything continues to move in good forward motion for you. Relationships can be bumpy at moments, but anything important in life has some serious work involved at moments.

    Take care!

Great stuff to both of you! Ya know that I’m invested in this as much as you are… for strange and freaky reasons.

Dude, you break her heart… your legs are toast. But I mean that in the most affectionate way possible!

    Cheers… you guys!

congrats to you and Brico for making it to celebrate a 8 month anniversary.
There is no such thing as a perfect relationship, they become perfect through hard work, patience and love.
For when there is true love, it’s easier to say I’m sorry or I’m wrong or work through each other’s shortcomings.
I think you guys are building a strong foundation for your love to become even stronger.
I couldn’t be happier for the two of you besides the guy is a vegetarian..lol
