Will It Ever End?

As you know, I’ve been suffering from sinus infections off and on for a number of months now. I made an appointment with a specialist a few weeks ago, and I actually got to see him last Tuesday. By that time, I was still having problems, but not as severe as they had been. The doc said that I had a lot of inflammation and infection in two of the sinus cavities, and he prescribed a hodgepodge of medications.

I finished the antibiotics on Sunday and the steroids on Monday. I have to stay on the nasal spray. I was feeling much better - until yesterday. I woke up feeling like crap. My throat was absolutely killing me. It still is, and I’ve been blowing my nose like crazy. Thank goodness for Puffs! Let me tell ya - I don’t think there is a better tissue on the market.

I already have another appointment with the specialist scheduled for February 6th. In the meantime, I called today to find out why I am having problems and what needs to be done. He’s calling in another round of antibiotics! Ugh! You have no idea how much I hate medications. I have a hard time swallowing pills, so I always request antibiotics in a liquid. The doctor did comply during my last visit, and I actually managed to take every last drop of that medication. The steroids were in pill form, but they were small, and I was actually able to take them. Once again, I took every last one.

I was so proud of myself for taking all my medications. I think it’s the first time in my life that I’ve actually finished all my antibiotics. To find out that I have to start them again is so depressing. Why can’t I just hurry and get well?

I’m so sorry that you’re feeling bad. That really sucks!

I have to use the Puffs with lotion when I get a cold or else my nose gets “to’ up”. I tried the Kleenex with lotion because they’re cheaper, but I guess sometimes you get what you pay for because Puffs kicked some Kleenex ass.

Take your meds, take it easy, and get better!!!

Tish. I’m sorry you have taken a turn for the worse again. Just an FYI, and not that I’m telling you what to do or get in your biz, and not that I’m a pharmacist but watch the anti-biotics and birth control. Anti-biotics will counteract birth control. Just be careful or we’ll have little Brico & Tish’s running around!!! lol

Get well sistah so you can come par-tee with me!!

    Hope you’re feeling better soon!

And yeah…gotta have lotion in my tissues when I’m gonna be using a lot of them!

Eeek! Sinus infections are horrible. Hopefully, an ear, nose, throat doctor will have better idea what is happening. I have some first hand experience with this topic. Good luck!

JC ~ I know what you mean! Puffs with lotion is awesome! I don’t think I’ll ever buy any other brand. Thanks for the kind words!

Flat Coke ~ Thanks for the advice! One Brico is enough for me. I don’t think I could handle a little Brico running around and driving me crazy! Thanks for the get well wishes. I hope to be better soon and ready to hang with ya! :)

Mamakbear~ Thanks, girl! Puffs should be compensating us all for the free advertising! hehe.

Rachel ~ Thanks! I’m currently under the ENTs care. Hopefully I’ll be all better soon!

Brico ~ I said that I had never taken my ANTIBIOTICS as prescribed. I can actually take the birth control pills, and I have taken them as directed. Well, except for those few I dropped down the drain a couple of weeks ago. Ooops! ;)

    Tish,
Scott’s CT scan in August revealed that he has “sinus disease”. It causes chronic sinus problems: dizziness, light-headedness,cold symptoms, etc. Maybe you, too? Unfortunately, the only course of treatment is repeated doses of antibiotics with the never-ending sinus infections.
BTW, I like your new pic.
We’re heading to St. Louis on Sunday after church to start our 2 week mid-western tour. I’ll update our blog with lots of photos, especially if we run into a lot of snow & ice!

Neva ~ Thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear about Scott’s “sinus disease”. It would certainly explain my symptoms! I’ll let you know what the doc says when I go back on February 6th! Good luck on the upcoming trip, and I look forward to seeing the pics on your blog! And btw, for those of you who don’t know, Geneva is my sister. :)

I have sinus problems most of the time.
It’s amazing how draining(no pun)and fatiquing they can make you feel.
One of the things that seems to help minimize the effects is to use Saline Nasal spray. It helps moisturize the lining and keep the passages clean.
Drinking lots of water helps too.
Hopefully, this will finally clear up for you.
