Let the Games Begin!

Brico and I have taken a big interest in board games as of late. We have bought several new games since we last saw each other - Scrabble, Yatzee, and Clue. Some of the ones we already had are Trivial Pursuit, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Boggle, Mancala, Pictionary, and Oxford Dilemma. We are anxious for a little healthy competition during our next weekend together.

With the exception of a few games here and there with Brico, I haven’t played board games in a very long time. When Chris and I dated back in 1999 and 2000, we played all the time. Since that time, I haven’t really had anyone to play with. I think game days with Brico will be awesome!

Now I have a question for you, dear reader. What are your favorite board games, and why?

I used to love monopoly because it took a long time and I knew if I could convince someone to play with me I had their attention for at least 2 hours!! lol

I also loved to play Yatzee & LIFE with my sister growing up. I like Pictionary a lot but I suck at drawing. I also like Dominos for some strange reason.

So glad you two have found something you like to do together. Competitive lurve can sure spice things up!! Oh and making bets on who is the winner/loser can make it fun too. Just sayin’…..

I used to like Risk. When I was in college, a bunch of us rented a house in Fort Sanders and my room mate and I used to sit on the front porch drinking beer, playing Risk and skipping class. It’s a wonder I ever graduated.

Oh I love to play Scrabble with my friends lately. I remember when my family was into Boggle and Yatzee then there was Pass the Pigs.

Shrew ~ I almost bought Battle of the Sexes the other night. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun! I may have to get it and force Brico to play! hehehe. I haven’t played marbles in forever! Thanks for the kind words. I hope you and Jack had a great weekend!

Flat Coke ~ Ya know, you may be onto something there! Finally - a way to keep Brico’s attention for two hours! ;) Hehe, thanks for the tip on betting. I’ll be sure to use it!

Bat ~ Sounds like a fun time! Remind me never to have a medical emergency while in the Nashville area! I’m afraid the only thing you’d remember while trying to save my life is your strategic Risk moves! Just kidding. Maybe. ;)

Red ~ I’ve never heard of Pass the Pigs. Sounds like some perverse drinking game.

I used to love Clue when I was a kid. Monopoly too. When I was really young I loved Candyland. I haven’t played any board games in awhile, but I love Trivial Pursuit and Cranium.

Just popping in to wish you a Fantastic New Year!

As for board games, I love scrabble, cranium, mindtrap and balderdash. And because I have a 7 year old I find I play an awful lot of ‘The Game of Life’ THOUGH they have a new Pirates of the Caribean version out so that makes it even more interesting!

    take care!

Pass the Pigs is a lot of fun, check it out.

Monopoly and Mancala here. Although I remember growing up play Parcheesi a lot and Sorry, Clue and Trivial Pursuit (my dad would never play TP with us, he would just shout out the answers from the living room) and Uno (except my sister always cheated at Uno).

    Have a great week girl!
