I got on the road to Atlanta around 10:30 yesterday morning. All was going well until I saw this.
I suddenly had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, like I was playing a role in a bad horror film - Final Destination 2, to be exact! I pressed on, and fortunately, there was nothing to this little “premonition”. Thursday turned out to be one of the best days of my life!
I didn’t get lost once, which is really surprising for me! I get lost almost every time I venture outside the greater Knoxville area. I came through a mess of traffic when I got into Atlanta, but other than that, the drive was easy. It took about three and a half hours.
When I got to the hotel, Brico was already there. It is always so great to see him! He took me to a computer in the lobby and said, “I just checked my email, and you have some explaining to do!” He then showed me an email he had received - Don’t Miss the Barenaked Ladies in Charlotte on December 17th! My reply was, “They must have just added that show to their tour schedule. It wasn’t there when I first looked! Now we get to see them twice! Yippee!” It’s a shame that Brico didn’t quite share my enthusiasm.
Speaking of not sharing enthusiasm, I didn’t share Brico’s for the movie Borat. Brico had already seen this movie, but he had been raving about it for a week. He wanted to see it again, and he wanted me to accompany him. I did. I must say that it had its moments. I had a few laughs, but I don’t see what all the hype is about. I would give it three out of five stars. My favorite scene was where he visited the humor coach.
After the movie, we had a brief nap, and then went to see The Barenaked Ladies. They put on an excellent show! It was absolutely incredible! Now I want to see them again. In Charlotte perhaps?
Brico was an absolute sweetheart yesterday. He gave me roses, a very sweet card, and another *ahem* gift that I may blog about at some point in the future. Let’s just say that pretty soon I’m going to have to invest in a toy box. This is the second time Brico has gotten me a gift of such a personal nature.
Take a look at the flowers. Aren’t they beautiful?
I would have loved to stay in Atlanta a little longer, alas Brico had to be to work by noon today. We had breakfast and then hit the road at 7:30 AM. I battled Atlanta traffic on I-85 for nearly an hour, but after that, it was smooth sailing back to Knoxville. And no sign of that truck carrying logs! Yay!
I miss Brico so much already, but I’ll be seeing him again shortly - on Wednesday, November 22nd. I’ll be spending the Thanksgiving holidays with him.
Brico, thanks so much for joining me in Atlanta. I had a great time! Love you!

Glad you all had a good time. I’m with Brico, Borat was hilarious. For me the funniest parts were when Borat attacks the other guy when he sees him with his magazine, and the part where Borat destroys the antique store. I also liked when Borat said: “May George Bush drink the blood of every man, woman, and child in Iraq.” Genius.

Me and the missus know a little bit about, “toy boxes” too…cough cough.
It’s not that big right now, but it’d be nice to expand it a bit…
Did that sounds as wrong as I thought it did? Yup!

Brico ~ Lucky for you!
JC ~ The scene with the naked fat guy really disturbed me. I think it is permanently burned into my mind. Every time I close my eyes, there it is! Ewwww…
Gabby ~ LOL. Yes, that sounds just as bad as you expected!
I’m developing a newfound respect for you and the missus!
Anon ~ Thanks for the tip!

Newfound respect?! That’s not entirely the response I expected…maybe I should be using my Livejournal “friends locked” post features more often!
Oh, but you don’t have a Livejournal account do you, so you don’t see my locked posts now anyway…come on woman, get an OpenID or LJ account - you’re missing half of my blogs!

Red ~ Not sure if I’ll end up going or not. It’s on a Sunday night. Arrghh. I’ll keep ya posted.
JT ~ Brico says it takes some of the pressure off of him. Hmmm…
