Secret (and Not So Secret) Talents

I’ve become addicted to Felicity. I’m nearing the end of Season 1, and I have Seasons 2–4 in my Netflix queue. I’ll probably end up buying all 4 seasons, because this show absolutely rocks! There are many lessons to be learned from it.

I watched an episode this weekend in which a student explained his theory – that each person is better than everybody else at three things. It made me think. If his theory were true, what would my three things be? What talents do I have? In what ways do I surpass the average Joe?

I made a few mental notes of my talents and then decided to ask the boyfriend for his thoughts. Brico thinks my three best talents are Communication, Patience, and Punctuation. Now there’s something to be proud of! I may not be able to do much, but I can certainly edit your English paper!

And Brico, just what are you trying to say about my sexual talents – or perhaps more fitting, lack thereof!?

After much consideration, here is the list of what I consider to be my best talents.

  1. Grammar/spelling/punctuation
  2. Penmanship
  3. Problem solving

I’m actually quite flattered at Brico’s list, even though he chose not to disclose my “secret” talents. I’ve never really thought of myself as being skilled in the art of communication, but perhaps I am. I am quite able (and always willing) to express myself, though I’m not sure that is always looked upon as a positive thing. This “talent” did, however, inspire my chattiekat email addresses and Messenger names, a personalized license plate, and even a short story! Yep, if nothing else, I’m definitely chatty! As for patience, what can I say? I can be the most patient person in the world with those I love, but watch out if you’re not on that very short list!

Now, what are your three special talents? And for those of you who know me well, what would you say my three best talents are?

I’ve actually never seen Felicity before in my life. I’ve also only seen 2 episodes of Gray’s Anatomy (and not liked either one) and 2 episodes of Lost (and not liked either one, either.) Apparently when it comes to TV shows I am no longer in sync with the rest of the world. Well, except for My Name Is Earl. Gotta love that show.

Steve ~ You and Brico should talk. He loves My Name is Earl too! :)
