The last couple of weeks have been very difficult; nothing has gone my way. I haven’t had any inspiration, so my posts have been sporadic at best. I figured that taking a break from blogging would put things into perspective. I guess it has.
Thanks to all of you who commented and sent emails. It means a lot to me.
The pity party is over.
I took Dale’s advice and posted an ad for a workout partner on the Knoxville area Craig’s List. I was careful to make sure that it posted under the Strictly Platonic section. I’ve had one reply so far - from a “35 year old attractive male who is not overweight but does need exercise.” As if the “attractive” part wasn’t a big enough clue as to what this man is really looking for, he gave yet a second hint. “Do you have a pic?” Doesn’t this guy know the meaning of platonic? I chose not to respond to his email, even though Elliot had a better idea. “Send him a photo of you flipping a bird!”
The swimming lessons are going well. I am getting more comfortable with the water, and I have learned to float rather nicely. There were two students (including me) in my class, but after the first lesson, the other student dropped out. I have two more weeks of this class, and I may sign up for another three week course once it ends. A friend informed me that he was a swimming instructor for 12 years, and he offered to spend some time teaching me as well. I’ll keep you posted.
I’ll be making another business trip to Michigan at the end of the month. Expect a lonely blog post or two from my hotel room.
I have to take a killer Latin America midterm this weekend. Wish me luck. This class is so boring that I haven’t invested much time on it this semester. I have come up with a brilliant idea though. Elliot is in my class, and he has done even less studying than I have. We decided to split the five units to be covered on the test. I am thoroughly studying the first 2 1/2, and he is studying the last 2 1/2. We are typing detailed notes on the highlights of each unit. I’ll give him my notes; he will give me his. We will study each other’s notes. Then we can avoid the rest of the &%$#@! in the units, cutting our study time way down. I’ll let you know if it works. If so, sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, Addict! Yet another creative technique you could have used back in the day! ![]()
Not much else to report at the moment. I hope you are all doing well.

I’ve been on the fence about getting a CS membership for a while now, still don’t know. $40 and 3 years just seems like to much. If I do go, I’ll let you know, though I can’t say my schedule would match up well, lol.
(I already have the picture =p)

I hope things work out for the better for you and that you find a workout responder that knows the meaning of the term platonic.
Have a good 1.

Welcome back. I was worried about you. I have lost 46 pounds Tish and am about to get back into the gym to see if I can’t tighten up some of the loose skin my skeleton inhabits. LOL Good luck finding your partner and congrats on the swimming.
