Random Thoughts

I know that I haven’t posted very much lately, but I’ve been extremely sick for the past week. I picked up some nasty virus much like the flu. I’m feeling much better now, except for the nagging cough and sore throat that just won’t go away.

I haven’t taken a swimming lesson since last Sunday due to my illness. As soon as the cough goes away, I’ll schedule one. I haven’t been to the gym this past week either. I hope to be back in the swing of things within the next couple of days.

For those of you who follow Brico’s blog, you know that he’s going through a difficult time right now with the battle for his daughter’s custody. It has been causing a lot of strain on our relationship as well. Hopefully things will settle down soon. In the meantime, I’m staying in Knoxville. Whenever Brico does see me, he’s going to have *LOTS* of making up to do.

I got tickets to see the Barenaked Ladies in Atlanta on November 9th! That’s the good news. The bad news is that I may be dateless yet again. I was hoping that Brico would be able to go, but with everything that is going on, he can’t commit to something so far in advance. I am giving him a few more days, and then the search for a replacement (for a concert companion, not for a boyfriend) will begin. Thanks to Dale for giving me lots of ideas for finding someone! If I don’t return from Atlanta, Dale, it’s your responsibility to tip off the cops about Craig’s List!

I am beginning to think I made a horrible mistake by taking four classes while working a full time job. I’ve been drowning in homework all weekend long.

It has been a blah day, so I just did something that can always make me feel better. I bought movies! I went to Blockbuster to take advantage of their 4 for $20 sale. I got A History of Violence, Just Like Heaven, The Secret Lives of Dentists, and Elizabethtown for $5 each! I also got two other movies for slightly more than that - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and The Hills Have Eyes.

Have a great evening!

    Feel better soon Tishy.

Have you seen Bad Santa?? Or am I the only one that hadn’t seen until yesterday???

It’s too funny! You should watch it if you haven’t.

I know what you’re going through with B is tough right now. Soldier Boy has been through more shit than I could describe–from public insults (accosting him in a bar and telling him he is dishonest and has no integrity) to threats of lawsuits and other unknown horror (”I have lots of money and I will use it how ever I have to to protect my son”) to having to sleep at my friend’s house when he came to visit because he wasn’t allowed to stay in the house when my son was there. It sucks to be in your position, wanting to help, having to stay away, finally finding love and having to let it take a back seat to other issues…

just know that when you come through all of this, your relationship will be so much stronger for having made it through. Keep your chin up, support him as much as you’re able, and wait it out. You two have something beautiful. You’ll come through this just fine.

And if you need to bitch, lemme know and I’ll send you Soldier Boy’s email. You can swap horror stories. :)

Sorry you’ve been unwell. It’s a good time to catch up on moves though. History of Violence is a recent favourite of mine - I basically like anything directed by Cronenberg!

Glad you got BNL tickets! I know that’ll be a great concert! I’ve seen them twice - once in 1991 at university in Canada before they were famous - they were selling the few songs they had themselves on home made cassettes - Martha still has a copy I think, and the second time in the UK they were the support act for the Beautiful South.

a history of violence wasnt bad but the hills have eyes i thought was going to be much much better. i hate those endings where they arent really endings, they just set you up for the sequel. they suck.

    I wholeheartedly recommend Bad Santa.

Four classes seems like a bit much, but its also due to your work ethic that you have so much to do. Us lazy people would not be taking it nearly as seriously.

I will be very interested to hear what happens with your date search.

I wonder how far Atlanta is from Farmville. I’d toss my hat in the ring for that other ticket!

Buying movies is always good for what ails ya.As for the classes just think how much is out of the way once your done.
The tough times will only make you and Brico a stronger couple.
Maybe I should consider being your date? haha

OMG, I just watched A History of Violence the other day with my boyfriend. Was that not the weirdest? He fell asleep during it because he had already seen it. Have you seen Dancer in the Dark? I think you might like that one. He went to rent it and they didn’t have any to rent but they had one on sale for $2.99. Now it is ours. It had Bjork in it….
I was disturbed by the end….

Glad you are feeling better hon!!
