Brico always calls me when he gets in bed each night, and we talk until he’s about to fall asleep. We’ve been doing it for months. Anyway, we talked several times yesterday, and he was supposed to call me back at bedtime. He didn’t. I wasn’t too worried about it; I figured he just fell asleep.
At 6:00 this morning, as I was hitting the snooze button on the alarm, the phone rang. I answered. It was Brico.
“Sweetie, I’m so sorry! I was supposed to call you back last night, but I fell asleep! I feel terrible. I didn’t keep my word. I’m such a bad boyfriend!”
Nope, he’s a great boyfriend. He’s the first boyfriend I’ve ever had who was thoughtful enough to call and apologize for not keeping his word.
That conversation brought a huge smile to my face – the first smile of August – hopefully the first of many!
