I had an awesome weekend with Brico – probably my favorite so far. On Friday night, we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean with Mike and Emily. It was a fantastic movie – even though Brico spent the entire two and a half hours wiping his popcorn buttered fingers all over my skin and clothing. I have got to teach this boy proper napkin etiquette!
Saturday evening was very relaxing. We ate dinner and watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Yet another thing Brico and I have in common – we both love Kevin Smith films!
On Sunday morning, Aspen had a Beanie Baby hunt. I hid Beanie Babies all over the house, and she had a great time finding them. I am so happy that she likes them as much as she does. It was great to see my babies find a nice new home! After the Beanie Baby hunt, we went to the pool. Aspen spent her time trying to drown me while Brico just sat by and watched. With friends like Brico, who needs enemies?!
Aspen and I made my famous manicotti and cornbread on Sunday while Brico took a well-deserved nap. I figured it was the least I could do since his weekend fatigue is usually directly related to me. I have always enjoyed cooking for other people, and it was especially nice to have a helper. I’ve been single and cooking for myself for so long that this was a very welcome change. I had a blast! Aspen is such a great kid.

After dinner, we watched Madagascar, and after a brief nap, I was back on the road to Knoxville. I got home around 11:30 last night.

Tish you should explain to your friends that it’s much easier to enjoy a child once he or she has left the shitty diapers behind and is able to carry on a converstion and follow simple instructions. It’s true ya’ll. Glad to hear you had a great weekend. I’m not losing a soulmate, I’m gaining a Rusty Nut! I feel much better now.
