As most of you know, I’ve been a collector of Beanie Babies for nine years now, and there’s no doubt that I’ll continue to collect them for many more. I’m not as much into it now as I used to be, but I still pick up new ones from time to time.
I got the brilliant idea to clean out some closets last night. I just happened to choose the closet that is stacked with boxes and boxes of Beanie Babies. I have no clue how many were in there - probably 400-500.
During the height of the Beanie Baby craze, I would purchase duplicates (when I could get them) of the hard to find Beanies. I would then use them for trades to get the Beanies that I couldn’t find at all. I frequented the Beanie Baby discussion boards and made all sorts of online deals - even managing to get foreign Beanies not available for purchase in the U.S. When I finally got too busy to keep up the wheeling and dealing, I still had quite a few duplicate Beanies. They’ve been hanging around my house all this time - until now. I sorted through them last night and pulled out all the duplicates. Take a look.
Included in the lot are Princess (named for Princess Diana), Sammy (named for Sammy Sosa), Osito, Fortune, Erin, Valentino, Valentina, Halo, Peace, and lots more. I’ll be taking them to their new home with Brico’s daughter this weekend.
Farewell, my babies! I’ll miss you!

Did you ever see the Meanie Babies? I have Splat the Cat. He used to sit on top of my monitor, but when I got a flat screen he lost his position. Now he is under it…
Very sweet of you to dump, err I mean give those Beanie Babies away! I am sure she will love them.

Brico ~ Fortunately for you, the 400-500 are my beanies. I’m not sure how many I have for Aspen, but it’s a whole box full, and a pretty big box at that!
Dan ~ It sure is! I need an extra bedroom just for the Beanies I’m keeping!
Kev ~ I’ve never been into Beanies for the money. I have never sold one Beanie actually. The deals that I made in the past were trades only, as I completely disapprove of sales on the secondary market. My Beanies have always been a hobby only, and I would much rather pass on the extras to someone who will enjoy them as much as I have.
Andi ~ I hope so! After reading Brico’s latest post, I’m afraid of what these Beanies may be subjected to!
SCH ~ I never saw the Meanie Beanies, but I’m sure they’re adorable. *LOL*
