I’m blogging from my hotel room in Columbus, Ohio. If I never see this place again, it will be too soon.
Terry and I drove into Columbus from Detroit today. The drive was a very long and boring one. I’ve never seen so much pasture in all my life. The most interesting part of the drive had to be the signs advertising the Indian Caverns. Oh, and I can’t forget the flock of sheep! With all that excitement, I’m embarrassed to say that I somehow still found a way to “nod off” in the passenger seat.
I never thought I’d be so quick to say that I just want to be back in Tennessee - or South Carolina. I don’t think I like Ohio. Nor do I like Michigan, though between the two, I’ll take Michigan! I miss the southern hospitality (and the southern accents!) of Tennessee.
You know what else I miss about Tennessee? The food! I’ve awakened to a seriously upset digestive tract the past two mornings! I can only compare it to a long night of drinking followed by a 2 AM visit to Krystal. The aftershock of a 12 pack of beer and a sackful of Krystals will have your stomach giving you the proverbial finger. And a few meals in The Wolverine State will have you extending a hearty “F*ck You” to your stomach!
As if gastric complications weren’t enough, I woke this morning with a sore throat! The culprit? There’s no doubt in my mind that it was what Terry refers to as “the shit floating around in the Michigan air.” Yep, it looked like somebody had blown a giant dandelion! There was a massive amount of tiny white plant matter blowing in the wind, making its way right up my nose and down my throat.
I do have one nice thing to report. I stopped at a Gap Outlet store in Toledo today, and I got three perfumes and a lip gloss for only $20! Ahhh, perfume and lip gloss - this girly girl’s dream come true!
Stay tuned - another blog post coming soon - straight from my home in Knoxville, Tennessee!

At least you’ll get to do some shopping again before you leave. That’ll help, won’t it?
I still maintain that South Dakota sucks far worse than anything you’ve been through this week!
