A few nights ago, I was bored and decided to browse through random blogs by using the “Next Blog” button. I came across a lot of uninteresting blogs, but then a really nice one showed up. It is called Coffee and Cigarettes [Secretly Shy], and the author is Samuel Lewis of Kansas. Samuel’s words really spoke to me – mostly because I’ve experienced the same feelings on so many occasions. It is rare to see a guy pour out his heart the way this guy did, and for that reason, I was touched. I browsed through his archives and left a few comments. I then bookmarked his blog so I could visit again.
I got a very nice email from Samuel last night. He said that my comments had made his day, and that he was very affected by what I wrote. I’m always happy to know that I have been able to touch someone in some way. Samuel’s email really made me smile. Check out this short excerpt:
“I looked at your blog and deduced that you are a rather wonderful woman… why a man wouldn’t go head over heels for you is really beyond me. I would love to “chat” sometime (though I don’t usually do the instant messanger thing), you seem really rather special and it would be foolish of me to pass up the opportunity.”
Samuel and I have exchanged a few emails since, and it appears that a new friendship is in the works! I even got a mention in his blog last night. Now he gets one in mine. Samuel, thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to our new friendship!

Mind you, I know my blogroll isn’t huge, but it uses up a lot of my time…I don’t need any new blogfriends just now!

the blogging world is still so small in many ways. i didnt realize the name of his blog was ‘coffee and cigarettes’ i saw that linked by someone just yesterday and thought the name was interesting.
