Blog Post of the Day

While catching up on my blog reading, I ran across this post by Mark Leslie. Mark talks about the two books he has just added to his must read list - Just a Geek and Dancing Barefoot, both by Wil Wheaton. He says that he was intrigued by two podcasts by Wil, and he urges all bloggers, writers, Star Trek or Sci-Fi fans, and of course, Wil Wheaton fans to check out the podcasts and Wil’s blog.

Gabby actually turned me on to Wil’s blog a couple of months ago. I must admit that I really do enjoy reading it. Wil is very entertaining, and he has a heart of gold. I remember seeing a post he did in regards to a girl in need of a bone marrow transplant. He urged everyone to register with the National Marrow Donor Program and to forward his post to anyone and everyone they could. Having been on the Registry myself since 1996, and having volunteered for the NMDP off and on since that time, the post really meant a lot to me.

I remember back when Wil was on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I had the biggest crush on his character, Wesley Crusher. When I think back on it, it’s really funny. I had teen magazine posters all over my bedroom walls!

Cruise on over to Mark’s blog, and check out the post about Wil Wheaton and his incredible gift for storytelling. After reading it, I’m going to put Wil’s books on my must read list as well!

You had a crush on Wil?? :)

Okay, Tish, let’s see who can read both of Wil’s books first. I’m sure you’ll win because I’m a horribly slow reader . . .

(Since Wil is such a great speaker, I’m tempted to just buy and download the audio version of Just A Geek)

“Just a Geek” is a great read! It’s what got me into Wil’s blog in the first place.

I don’t look at Wil’s blog as much as I used to which I know is wrong - I should look at it more because it’s wonderfully entertaining.

It’s nice to know some people actually check out the links I put on my blog too, Tish! Thanks for making what I do feel worthwhile!

I had a crush on Crusher, too! That must be how they tapped into the young female demographic.

Lecram ~ Are you making fun of me??! ;)

Mark ~ I guess we have yet another thing in common. I’m a horribly slow reader as well. I can’t make myself move forward until I have a complete understanding of exactly what is going on. And if there’s any question at all, I read the paragraph again…and again…

I like your idea about the audio books!

Gabby ~ Thank you for posting such great material! I always enjoy reading your blog, especially your movie-themed HNTs. They always make me laugh! :)

Andi ~ I’m suddenly not so embarrassed anymore! Thanks for letting me know that there are others just like me out there! :)

LZ ~ Thanks, and thanks for stopping by. I’m going to check out your blog now. :)
