A True Friend

A while back, I blogged about my friend Kent. Just yesterday, Kent proved his friendship once again, and it deserves a post!

As I mentioned in my other post about Kent, he works for a company that does business with the company I work for. He services our account once per month, and he always makes a point to stop by my office for a chat after his work is done. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from the lobby at work yesterday. “Tish, it’s Kent!” I went to the lobby, and then we went back to my office. Kent’s first statement was, “I saw your blog post last night, and I wanted to make sure you’re okay. And I want you to know that I still love you!” What a sweetheart! I asked him if he was in the neighborhood doing his rounds. Nope. He made a special trip to my place of work just to check up on me. I don’t know many people who care enough to make that much of an effort.

During the course of our conversation, Kent renamed NBF. From this point forward, he will be referred to as OBF. And he offered to “squash the little guy” if I ever say the word. I appreciate the big brother approach, but squashing him isn’t necessary, Kent. Thanks for your friendship, and I love you!
