I first spotted Kelly on Jake’s MySpace friend list. I checked out his profile and was instantly intrigued. I sent him an email, and we started chatting online. We had lots in common, and really hit it off. That was about a year ago.
We first met in person in March 2005, and we have been great friends ever since. We hang out from time to time, and we email each other rather frequently. We talk about anything and everything. He is definitely one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.
One of my favorite memories of Kel is when we met one night at his favorite hangout, Cool Beans. We sat at the bar, talked, and ordered burgers. Kel made a point to request some A-1 sauce. He then told me, “Gosh, even a dog turd would taste good with A-1 sauce!” That comment makes me laugh every time I think about.
Kel works in the marketing field, and he also writes for a local publication on homes and living. He is very outgoing - always organizing and coordinating parties and events. If there’s something exciting going on in town, you can bet that he’s a part of it. He is constantly surrounded by friends, and even those who don’t know him personally have heard his name. Yes, he’s a legend around these parts, and I am honored to be his friend!
I took these photos one night at Cool Beans. And yes, that’s a real dog! Her name is Greta, and she belongs to one of the bartenders. All the bar regulars know and love her.
Kel, thanks for being such a wonderful friend. I’m so happy to know you. I love you lots!

OMG, I had totally forgotten about A1 sauce! I used to get my Aunt who lives in Maine to bring it over when she visited!
