My grandmother Chandler (hereafter referred to as Mamaw) used to say that the way you rang in the new year would determine the way that your year would go. I wish I could remember her exact words.
I didn’t do a thing tonight. Didn’t even watch the ball drop on TV. I wonder just what Mamaw would have to say about me sitting on my ass as the clock struck midnight? Probably something to the effect that I’ll be sitting on my ass watching life pass me by for the entire year. What a depressing thought!
I may not have had much fun at midnight Eastern Time, but I rang in the New Year on Pacific Time with my buddy Lecram! We turned on our webcams, got half-nekkid, and drank lots of champagne. Multi-colored streamers were flying, confetti was dropping, and party horns were sounding. Times Square had nothing on us! Okay, so maybe it wasn’t that dramatic. Maybe there was no half-nekkidness or champagne. Maybe not even any streamers or confetti. But there were good times between good friends. And he even gave me a prediction about my love life for 2006! I know. I thought the same thing you’re all thinking now. What love life??! Well, apparently I’m going to have one in 2006! This calls for a true celebration!
