Thanksgiving in the ER

I spent several hours yesterday in the Emergency Room with my brother. I’ve been pretty sick, but he is a hundred times worse. He went to see the doctor on Wednesday, and he was given two bags of fluids through an IV due to dehydration. When I took him to the ER yesterday, he was given two more.

They say that every cloud has a silver lining. Yesterday’s silver lining was Tom. *Sigh* Tom was Jake’s nurse, and he was a CUTIE! It’s a shame that I showed up looking like something out of a bad horror movie. When Jake called me yesterday morning, I was lying in bed, feeling like crap and looking even worse. I threw on some clothes and took him to the ER. No makeup. No shower. It was not a pretty sight, folks.

The nurse was an absolute doll. Slim, black hair, goatee. I made a point to look at his name badge - Tom W. A part of me felt like checking myself into the next available room, and requesting a private nurse - Tom, of course! hehe.

You’d better believe that if I ever find myself needing to go to the ER, I’m going to take the extra time to make myself look nice first. Hopefully it won’t be a life-threatening injury. “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! Send an ambulance, but give me time to put on some makeup first!”

And of course I’ll request Fort Sanders Regional Hospital and nurse Tom! Only the best for this gal! ;)

Well, I know you missed out on getting it on with Mr Right, but you did leave out one little thing, how’s your brother?

BT ~ Thanks for asking. My bro is still sick, but he’s feeling a bit better. He was given steroids to reduce the swelling in his throat, so he is at least able to eat now. But I’m thinking of sending him back to the ER to get a phone number for me. hehehe. Just kidding. ;)
