About three years ago or so, I decided to get some red highlights put into my hair. I went to the best salon in town and forked out a lot of dollars to get something nice. My hair looked awesome! At least I thought it did.
One of my coworkers used to stop by every day to chat with me. I’ll call him D. When I went back to work after getting my hair done, D. stopped by as usual. He walked into my office, and immediately asked, “WHAT did you do to your hair??!” I was extremely offended at that remark, so I let him have it.
“I colored it, and if you don’t like it, get the hell outta here!” He was stunned. He paused for a moment, and then he asked, “What did you just say?” I replied, “I told you to get the hell outta here. And don’t come back!”
D. walked out of my office and didn’t return for about four months. When he finally did stop by to say hello, we didn’t mention a thing about the hair incident, and it hasn’t been mentioned since. He didn’t apologize. I didn’t apologize. I forgave him, of course, but I still get pissed off when I think about the remark that he made about my hair that day. But ya know what? He has never said one negative comment to me since! hehehe.
