Most of you know all about my ex-boyfriend G. After many months of not being able to get along, we finally became friends a few months back. He’s engaged now, planning to get married in August. G and I have been exchanging daily emails since we got back in touch. In an email a few days ago, I told him about my plans to attend this Saturday night’s Smokies baseball game. He informed me that he and his fiancee will be at the same game, and that I am welcome to say hello if I see them. (Keep in mind that G dumped me for this girl. Technically, we weren’t together at the time, but we were trying to repair our relationship. He gave me every indication that he wanted to work things out with me.) Anyway, in my next email, I expressed my disinterest in meeting the woman for whom I was dumped. This is the reply I got.
“Since that’s what you want, if I see you at the game, I’ll walk right on by. And I hope you’ll do the same.”
I am appalled. How could someone be so mean? Did G really think I’d be honored to meet the “other” woman? Men, give me a clue. Why do you guys act like this? Do you lose all love for us the moment a better looking woman comes along? If that’s the case, I’m staying single for the rest of my days.
