I Wanna Marry a Mechanic!

Well, I took my car to Ted Russell Ford yesterday to get that battery cable repaired. I was assured that it shouldn’t be too big of a problem getting my car back that same day. Later in the day, I received a phone call telling me that there was more extensive damage than originally thought. Not only did the battery terminal end have to be replaced, but a lot of the wiring under the harness had been burned up as well. Looks like I won’t have my car back until sometime Thursday, and the repairs are to the tune of $600! Can you believe that?

I’ve been doing some thinking. My car has been a pretty good one. It’s a 2000 Mercury Cougar, and I love it except on days like this. My alternator went out a couple of years ago, and I had to have my emissions system reprogrammed a few months back. Those two repairs came to over $600. And now I’m having to come up with another $600! Add to it all the oil changes, new tires, brake work, and other routine maintenance. I’m paying a small fortune to mechanics! Maybe I should just consider finding a nice, young mechanic to marry instead! I’d have a well-maintained vehicle, extra money in my pocket, and a boy toy to boot!
